The foundation was laid early. Freestyle clips dating back to 2019 already revealed the hallmarks of his style: an unmistakable sharpness in his delivery and a natural instinct for approaching flows differently from his contemporaries.
PLAYLAVS, his four-track EP released May 14, 2025, is the fullest expression of that identity to date. Featuring “BATMAN,” “NYANDEBO,” and “LE4DER” with PLUTOTUNEZ, the project echoes the sound Keni has been sharpening for years.

The chemistry between Keni and PLUTOTUNEZ is well-established. Pluto produced “DAMN2NICE,” one of Keni’s most significant records to date, and later contributed to “LE4DER.” For Gambian listeners, PLUTOTUNEZ is no stranger. He was among the producers involved in Mass 187’s Tha Godfather, working alongside Jedii007.
“BATMAN” stands out as the clearest showcase of what separates Keni from the pack. The cadence, the delivery, and the attitude all come together in a way that feels refreshingly foreign within the Sierra Leonean landscape. His aggression is not in the volume. It is in the writing and the way he commands the beat.
That level of control is deliberate. Keni is a perfectionist by nature. If the cadence is slightly off, the song does not leave the hard drive. He is willing to hold a record indefinitely until it matches the sound in his head, a discipline that has become a defining part of his process.
His latest release, D2N, continues that upward arc. The two-track drop features “HONEY WAFFLE” and “CONCERN,” giving listeners another window into where Keni is heading sonically.
His slogan, “The Bra 1 Tok,” translates to “the elder wants to talk.” It is a fitting mantra for an artist whose power lies in restraint and confidence, not noise.
